PEKANBARU CITY – The Institute of Health and Technology Al Insyirah (IKTA) officially held the Grand Final of the 2026 IKTA Campus Ambassador Competition at the institution’s Main Hall on Thursday (June 18, 2026). The event marked the culmination of a series of selection processes aimed at identifying outstanding students who can serve as role models and representatives of the university.
A total of 14 finalists from various study programs competed in the grand final after successfully completing several stages of selection, training, and mentoring. Throughout the competition, participants demonstrated their leadership abilities, communication skills, academic insights, and commitment to contributing to the advancement of the institution.
The event was officially opened by IKTA Rector, Dr. Ns. Hj. Rifa Yanti, S.Kep., M.Biomed, who emphasized that the Campus Ambassador program is more than just a competition. According to her, it is a platform for developing students into influential figures who can positively represent the university in broader society.
“Campus Ambassadors must embody the values and identity of IKTA, both within the academic environment and in the wider community. They are expected not only to excel academically but also to demonstrate integrity, ethical conduct, and social responsibility,” she said.
The Rector further stated that students play a strategic role as agents of change who can contribute to strengthening the university’s image and reputation. Therefore, Campus Ambassadors are expected to become pioneers in academic, social, and community engagement activities.
During the grand final round, contestants participated in interviews and question-and-answer sessions with the panel of judges to assess their critical thinking skills, leadership potential, national awareness, and understanding of contemporary issues in education and healthcare. The finalists were also given the opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity through various performances.
The event featured a diverse range of presentations, including public speaking demonstrations, artistic performances, and innovative ideas that impressed the audience. Communication skills, personality, leadership qualities, and adaptability were among the key criteria considered in the judging process.
The grand final was held in a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere, with strong support from students, lecturers, and members of the academic community. Their encouragement and appreciation added excitement to the competition throughout the evening.
Through this program, IKTA aims to produce students who not only achieve academic excellence but also possess strong leadership, communication, and community service capabilities. The selected Campus Ambassadors are expected to serve as university representatives, inspire fellow students, and support the institution’s strategic initiatives.
