The Al-Insyirah Pekanbaru Education Foundation was established through Notarial Deed No. 03 of 2009 by Yandri Sarjana Hukum. Subsequently, through Decree No. 01/YPI/2009, the Al-Insyirah Pekanbaru College of Health Sciences (STIKes), abbreviated as STIKes Al Insyirah, was established on October 1, 2009. This school was officially established through Decree No. 161/D/O/2009 of the Minister of National Education.
- The Minister of National Education granted permission to STIKes Al Insyirah to establish three study programs: Diploma IV in Midwifery Education, Bachelor of Nursing, and Bachelor of Public Health and Nursing Profession. All three programs have been accredited, with the following details:
- The Diploma IV Midwifery Study Program was accredited B by the LAM PT-Kes in 2017;
- The Undergraduate Nursing Study Program was accredited with a C grade by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (LAM PT-Kes) in 2017, following reaccreditation with a B grade by LAM PT-Kes under Number 0710/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Sar/X/2018 in 2018;
- The Undergraduate Public Health Study Program was accredited with a C grade by BAN-PT in 2013, following reaccreditation with a B grade by LAM PT-Kes under Number 0043/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Sar/I/2019 in 2019; and
- The Nursing Profession was accredited C by the LAM PT-Kes in 2017. After reaccreditation, the Nursing Profession was accredited B by the LAM PT-Kes under number 0710/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Pro/X/2018 in 2018.
Several years later, during its development process, Al Insyirah College of Health Sciences obtained permission to open other study programs. On March 5, 2019, based on Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education No. 185/KPT/I/2019, the Applied Undergraduate Program in Electromedical Engineering Technology (S1 TREM) was established. On December 30, 2020, based on Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 144596/A5/HK/2020, the Midwifery Science Study Program, both the Undergraduate Program and the Professional Program, were established.
Along with the progress of educational development in Riau Province as well as joint support and studies, on December 29, 2022, Al Insyirah Health College Pekanbaru changed its form to Al Insyirah Health and Technology Institute based on the decree of the Indonesian Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology number 939/E/O/2022.
